I made the mistake of wandering through campus, specifically passing by the music school.
Now I remember why I try to avoid that area of campus as much as possible.
It's the only place I know I would have truly been happy at the UA.
Unfortunately, I never thought I was good enough to be a student there.
So I settled for science.
As soon as I graduate I will pursue music again.
It's the only thing in my life that makes me truly smile.

We made this Creamy Pesto Sauce....yum.
Mind you, Felix and I are terrible cooks. So we're going to attempt to cook dinner with eachother as much as possible to improve. Ha.
I'm proud of us. We had to make a roux first (oil mixed with flour)
and the first time we did this, we failed miserably.
We made a concoction that resembled very chunky vomit.
But we tried again and did a little better.
Garlic, oil, and flour. Then added milk. Then pesto.
Mmm.

So dinner was pesto tortellini

Dessert was Tiramisu. AHHH.
I want to learn how to make homemade tiramisu.

Felix is sick though, so today I went and bought some vitamins.
Going to up the tea intake too.
Last thing I need is to catch whatever he has.

All in all, happy to have made a yummy meal! Yay go us.

Reflecting on my midterms, I am disappointed.
I failed one (but it was a better grade than I was expecting LOL)
Got a B on another (which is OK but the answers were so simple and I made them way more difficult than needed-be)
And my classics grade is still unknown.

This second half of the semester, I really need to focus.
I will not be okay with getting Cs.
Considering how the beginning of my semester started, Bs are OKAY but still.
I am an A student who fucked everything up at the beginning and have been playing catchup since.

Felix is becoming not only my boyfriend but my best friend. (well, I would hope so...)
however we both have our anxieties and insecurities and I hope he is willing to work with me on them.

I think I am finally happy again! :)
I don't like being depressed, anxious, and afraid of everyone.
It's not who I am.
But I think Paul is helping me get out of this trap I've found myself in.
A while back I realized how I have such a big fear of opening up to people.
Well he has gotten me to do it and I'm so thankful.
Even if we aren't together, or whatever, we really need each other right now so this is a good step in the right direction.

I decided to get creative tonight since I have very little money and food.
Dinner was avocado with agave nectar and lime juice.
It was terrific, and a great way to make avocado sweet.
Would be awesome as a dessert.

I want to somehow make a sauce or dip out of this mixture.

When I am older, I want to own an awesome little cafe that serves awesome cupcakes and vegetarian/vegan food.
I already have some recipes in mind, such as the chai cupcake, the espresso cupcake, my falafel tacos, and now if I can make this avo/agave sauce that can be the topping to my falafel tacos!

Oh my body aches. My brain hurts. My tummy is rumbling. And the caffeine in my bloodstream is giving me the jitters.

BUT I just took my last organic chemistry exam EVER. And it was a doozy. However, I feel I was very prepared for it, I just had mental blocks like usual and probably finished with a C or B.

The good news is I'm pretty sure I did not get lower than a 49%, which is what I would have needed to lose my B. So that makes me happy.

Bad news, I bombed my stats final hardcore. I'm hoping the class is curved, or else I'm looking at a definite C. :(

One more final and I'm home free.
I forgot what free time was like. I forsee a very great summer ahead of me.

I've been working on my "formal" lab report the past few days.
It is supposed to mimic those that are published in chemistry journals.
I had to download Chemdraw to make my mechanisms and such.
It's the coolest program ever.
It's like Paint, but with molecules!
Here, for example....This is something I made last night!

God I'm such a nerd. But I really do love doing this kind of stuff. It's fun!
But that alone took me like 45 minutes to draw up.
Anyways, I have lost absolutely all motivation for school.
My GPA for this semester is going to be pretty scary....well, by scary I mean like a 3.3 but still, that sucks I really want something higher.

My grandpa has been in the hospital for quite some time now.
He had brain surgery, but now he is in ICU.
I guess my grandma decided that nothing further is to be done, and nature will have to take its course.
I should be sad about this, but I'm really not.
That doesn't mean I don't love my grandpa, it just means that he has kind of already been dead to me for some time now.
Not dead to me like I have no feelings for him, or such.
Just that he has been in this state for over a year, and hasn't even remembered who I am for at least two.
Its just his time to move on.
Besides, death isn't even that big of a deal (to me, that is).

I am the proud mama of a new bicicletta. Her name is Sally, per request of the original owner.
I picked it up today and paid 85 dollars for it.
It was missing a rear wheel, so I stopped by Bicas to buy a new one.
Spent an hour fixing one of the rear wheels they had for sale there.
I had a lot of fun! I've never worked on bike parts before, especially at Bicas.
Twas a new experience.
Cole helped me fix the rest of the things wrong with the bike, and now it is in running condition.
I need a new lock though, and decided I am going to keep my bike in the house from now on.

Total cost: $100. Half what I paid for my last bike, and it is much more lady-like and pretty. However it could probably use a new seat.

That's all. Now to finally fix my broken car window tomorrow.

Ok so I'm not about to post a blog like a silly girl does about how much she likes her boyfriend.
But what I am going to do is say that tonight we are going to a classy dinner at macaroni grill (I'm paying for once, YAY) which will be great because I am going to finally try and let him in, and show him who I really am.

Yesterday we went disc golfing.
It's like frisbee golf. I'm pretty bad at it.

I must have done something really generous because karma has been really great to me.

Today was special, I went to Reddington Pass with Kenny and we went hiking.
We found a creek and a waterfall! And since it rained all night last night, it was really flowing.
It was a lot of fun, I just wish we could have hiked longer before it started to rain.
The tea party with his good friend's toddlers was also quite enjoyable.

Basically, I am getting spoiled. I didn't pay for the movies, food...anything.
It's kind of weird having someone pay for you all the time.

But in general, life is perfect right now.
And will be 100x more perfect come thursday night. AFTER my ochem test. :)

Well I went to the most ghetto, x-rated, slashAWESOME concert last night.
Kenny got me, teresa, and her boyfriend tickets to slow jams, or whatever it's called.
I honestly only went to spend time with him, and let Teresa have an amazing time.
She loves that shit!
I did however miss the memo about showing up in everything but clothes that covered your womanly treasures.
Haha, let's see if I remember the lineup properly...

Pretty Ricky (One word: PERVERT. He most definitely molested a girl on stage. But I'm sure she enjoyed herself. I felt uncomfortable)

Chris Brown (ok this boy is legit. He is an absolutely phenomenal performer. Sure, I am not a big fan of his music but this boy can DANCE! Plus he broke it down to Pon Da Floor which in itself made me go a little crazy ha.)

Ok so the deal with this show is, yeah...I don't like this music.
But he got us $100 tickets each, which meant we were like 20 rows from stage.
I thought that was awesome enough.
But no....that wasn't good enough. He had to give us backstage passes.
So we pretty much watched the entire show from the side of the stage which was ridiculous.
Then he managed to get us into the after party as VIP which was alright.
I almost met Chris Brown but there was too much drama and I didn't care enough anyways.
But regardless, I had a freakin blast.

Moral of the story: Don't judge things....even if something isn't your thing, try it out! you may be surprised and have a fucking awesome time.
Plus, I have total bragging rights now :)

Well, I finally saw The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus at The Loft tonight.
All I must say is thank god I was not on any form of drugs!
It was pretty good. I feel it might have dragged on a bit, but that's quite alright.
However, I feel my liking for the film only really comes from the fact that it was Ledger's last movie.
God, I am still so bummed he isn't around anymore.
He is to me as John Lennon is to my mom.
Regardless, the movie is pretty interesting, definitely beautiful on the eyes, and worth the watch.
I think I may need to watch it a few more times to really, REALLY like it.
But, I can say this: it further feeds my desire to be a gypsy.

Well guys, I've done it. I've finally hit the big 2-1.
It's been a great day thus far.
I figured I'd write real quick since I have no free time anymore.
Except now. In which I will watch the episode of LOST I missed...and maybe eat some french toast.

So in my world, my car got broken into the other day.
I was getting ready for work, and noticed my driver's seat window had shattered.
Someone just threw a rock right in there :(
Luckily I didn't have much of anything valuable in my car, except they did find my iPod and stole it.
I was kind of annoyed, but it was my really old, barely working iPod from like freshman year of highschool. With a ton of music I doubt any thieves would listen to. Ha.
And I got a 65% on my first ochem test which is in reality a high B....ha.
So far off to a good start in that class.

Anyways, last night I came home from the library around midnight. Receieved a TON of texts from random people Teresa was at the bar with.
That made me feel special :)
But then Teresa came home and did something insanely sweet.
Gave me 2 presents. One of which was a baggie full of tokens for I think the buffet for free drinks! Hell yes.
Numero dos??!! A Freaking iPod touch!
She and my mom bought it together. I was shocked.
I always feel awkward and hate getting gifts for birthdays, and christmas and such.
I just feel like I don't deserve them.
But obviously I was stoked about this. And I really just can't thank them enough.

That's enough of my blabber.
I'm going to get my hair done today, then dinner at oreganos, and then 4th ave with all my amazing friends.

This really has been a wonderful birthday in an otherwise rather drab and lacklustre point of my life.

Well school is off to a brutal start.
I've been in the med library literally until midnight every night for nearly a week.
At least being there makes me really motivated. Being around all those wannabe doctors.
Or real doctors since I like to hang out in the cafeteria from time to time.
Also, the hospital cafeteria is the cheapest food in Tucson, or at least on campus.
$2.30 for a fucking huge veggie burger? yes please!

What else. Fren 420 is the most annoying class ever.
I hate history. And this class takes my most hated subject and puts it all in French.
So not only am I lost half the time because I have serious ADHD, but I have to remember everything I learn in another language!
what the fuck.
Well I decided I'm saying Fuck You to my french major.
I'll just need to stick this class out to get my minor, and then focus on my EEB.

Speaking of that. I'm in the coolest class ever.
I don't exactly know the name of it but it focuses on neurology of animals.
Andy and I are taking it together, so that makes it even better.

So I've been doing some intensive music discovery recently, and I've come across some artists I really like.

Apes and Androids being among those. They remind me a lot of Radiohead, but a little more futuristic. Some of their tunes even have a Bowie-esque to them that of course I love. Sometimes the lead singer even sounds remotely like David Byrne. :o

I just watched this movie.

It's great. Combines a lot of things I truly enjoy:
France, Sensuality, Curiosity, Taboo, Reality, annnnnndddd Michael Pitt.
Why do I like Michael Pitt?
Because he is like a disturbed, unique, and entirely alluring version of Leo DiCaprio.
Okay, perhaps that is debatable, however he has the whole mysterious, dark thing going for him. I love it.

The other day in my ochem lecture, I saw a girl with "Edward" is I guess what we call him, as her computer background.
It creeped me out.
It made me really annoyed.
And I realized once again I hate everything about Twilight and girls.
I hate Edward Cullen.
He sparkles in the sunshine.
He is the definition of a stalker.
And he is an overall entirely awkward person.
Why does he wear makeup? I mean that is cool and all, but I'm pretty sure you AREN'T going for the tranny look here, so now I am just confused.
Actually, I do wish you had gone for the tranny look.
That would have made things a lot more interesting.

I've started sketching.
I never really thought I could draw.
My dad is the artist in the family, and I'm the musician.
But I realized I'd give it a try.
JB and I went to Michael's the other day and I gathered up some change and bought a sketchbook.
Way more satisfying than any food I could have bought.
I can actually draw! I'm not great or anything, but I'm certainly not hopeless either.
I'm excited because I've gone the past 3 or so years without really have a good artistic outlet.
My piano has been great but it's pretty difficult to gather the motivation to write a song.
Especially when you're in a lull and everything you play sounds exactly the same.
Blah.
But drawing is so different.
You can look at anything around you, and notice it's beauty, and transfer it on paper with your own little twist.
My attention to detail has already increased immensely.
I'll have to get my dad to give me some pointers. Next step is watercolor painting. Eek.

Oui, j'écris beaucoup aujourd'hui, mais il y a trop de choses qui nagent dans ma tête maintenant.

Quand je suis allée au classe aujourd'hui, le soleil se couchait.

J'ai un moment pendant le week-end..il était bizarre. Il était étranger.
Mais il m'a inspiré.
Je veut toucher tous les choses! Je veut sentir tout. Je veut à respirer de lui, et toi, et tout le reste du monde.
Je pense que je vais explorer mon côté artistique plus....

But then I wouldn't have feelings.
Beauty would not exist.
Sure, I could see the world without a care or worry, but really, what good is that.
Tumbleweeds don't think.
Feathers don't see.
Driftwood doesn't love.
But they are entirely free

But I'm still without a job and considering filing for unemployment since Austin's is officially no more and I never technically quit.

Pretty sure I'm qualified.

But I really need to find a job, I wish the restaurant business wasn't so "picky".

Also, I got stood up two days in a row.

Guess it's not entirely the good life.

Oh talk about a throwback to high school.

I am listening to Africa....fun!

Ok so I am in the midst of finally finishing my mitigation measures for my geosciences class.

And I finished my presentation yesterday so I finally am feeling my life coming back together.

I am writing a french short story of the following:

I take a vacation to the moon after winning copious amounts of money from my rich friends in poker. Upon getting there, I come across this water these scientists claim to have found on the moon. Just out of spite, I drink it. Muahaha. Then I turn into a fucking super hero. I can breathe in an oxygen free environment, AND produce gravity. Awesome.

Oh but did I forget to mention the secret cave I come across? Yeah, it's full of fucking quarantined zombies that were transported here after the swine flu epidemic in the United States.

My super hero powers fend off the zombies for the most part, but I only last about 2 days. One little annoying bugger that I "fell in love with" persuades me to spend the night with him, and then he bites me. THAT BASTARD!

Well, needless to say, I'm quickly transformed into a fucking zombie. Just my luck. Stuck on the moon and I'm a zombie. Oh but wait, remember those superpowers I attained from drinking that water? Well thankfully for that, I turn into the QUEEN zombie. Somehow I manage to find my way back to planet Earth and I take over the world. Muahahaha.

Regardless, I've been searching craigslist nonstop for any new openings.

I ran 3 miles last night and had 2 job interviews.

Sorry, I just finished my ochem test today and one of the questions is making me anxious.

I think I did well. Hopefully A worthy.

Also, I just finished writing another one of my weekly french papers about my faux life in Paris.

So I'm this 22 year old girl who is studying languages and lives in a colorful studio with my sexy, rugged, bearded boyfriend.

I am tiny and resemble what some people say to be natalie portman.

I play piano and make vegan cupcakes. And run around my appartment banging pots and pans while I am blackout drunk.

So basically most of it is a direct parallel to my life, depsite the Portman appearance and sexy boyfriend.

And no I have not yet blacked out and ran around like an obnoxious Ritalin kid on 4th of July.

I also have had a soar throat for what feels like 3 weeks. It won't go away and it won't get worse.

Which really bothers me because it's like my throat is in raspy limbo.

And I really like when my voice is raspy so for the love of baby jesus, just worsen a little bit please!

I think I'm going to sit out on my front porch now.

The weather is absolutely beautiful and I love people watching. It has become slightly addictive.

Well the highlight of my party was a car accident in front of the house.

I felt slightly more lame as I realized I personally reenacted one of dane cook's stand up jokes.

But whatever, I am just a curious kitten and needed to make sure everything got resolved and also needed to make fun of the poor guy who failed his sobriety field test miserably.

I think living on 6th street was the best choice I ever made.

I really did forget what beautiful music sounded like.
It's been too long since I've sat down and listened to some animal collective or yann tiersen.
Today has been perfect and completely blissful.
And to top it all off I made a really lovely dinner! Teriyaki tofu with basmati rice. mmm.
I don't have much to say except that if it seems I've fallen off the face of the earth, it's because I basically have.

I apparently forgot how to write. I have written a terrible response to one of the books for my public health class. I'm so embarrassed. :/

But, it wouldn't be school time if it weren't for procrastination. So here I am writing about how I suck at writing. Instead of actually writing. Mer.

Why do people insist on trying to bring me down when I tell them I'm vegetarian and trying to be vegan? I'm already used to hearing the "oh PSH, meat is for real people...." or "so why exactly are you a vegetarian?" or "you know that isn't healthy, we need meat. and you won't get enough nutrients." blahblahblah. I just don't like meat, is that so hard to understand? And I get plenty of nutrients, thank you very much.

I got a three dollar check written to me the other night for a tip. Probably the best thing ever.

I should probably get back to my writing. See, I'm too scatter brained. This is bad. Maybe I'll finish the paper tomorrow.
